Events like this can be a real breath of fresh air! It is like we are catapulted forwards to a time (which believe me IS coming) where most of us are conscious of not wanting to do harm in the world. Although many of the attendees may be strangers to us, they feel more like friends. Paul Kerton AKA Hench Herbivore |
How proud am I as a Geordie and fellow vegan to see such a festival appear in the heart of Northumberland. When I was a kid meat was considered the cornerstone of a good diet. Luckily for us it was too expensive, so though we felt deprived at the time, we were blessed, little did we know..Many years later when I became a vegan I realised that an alternate to meat would help others go through the transitional period to save their health, the animals, and the environment. Now, VBites Foods is the biggest meatless meat manufacturer in the world. All dreams of saving lives, both animal and human are do-able, you must just take that leap of faith. Visit the Newcastle Vegan festival and educate yourself for the better. Everyone can heal through a plant based diet, and the bonus is saving 100″s of lives in your lifetime……. Heather Mills |
This is vegan heaven and as Patron of The Vegan Society I am thrilled that you have organised this amazing showcase. If only abattoirs had glass walls there would be vegan festivals on the scale of this one taking place every day of the year! Once humans can stop shovelling dead animals into their faces the planet will prosper on many different levels – benefitting us, the animals and the environment we inhabit. Your compassion and dedication to this immensely important subject will have an impact that you can be extremely proud of. Today Newcastle, tomorrow the world! Wendy Turner Webster |
‘Huge congratulations to you all for organising this vegan festival to raise money for your terrific causes. I am sorry I can’t join you on the day but wish you great luck in your endeavours.’ Jenny Seagrove . |
‘Good luck for the Vegan festival in Newcastle Upon Tyne. It sounds like a fab event, healthy food, ethical and cruelty free products, local producers, lots of like minded animal lovers, people who care about what they eat and where it comes from, wish I could be there. Hope it’s a great success. Michaela Strachan .’ |
“Liberating animals, extending simple compassion to them, and NOT eating them and the things that come out of them are good things. The Newcastle upon Tyne vegan festival 2014 is the first of its kind in the area and one of the largest in the UK. Hundreds of animal-loving companies from all corners of the UK will merge on Newcastle upon Tyne. Thousands of cruelty-free like-minded people will gather for a great day in the heart of this beautiful city.”

“Animal welfare and a vegetarian diet play a very important part of my life. I am committed to encourage others to see the benefits of embracing such a life-style by way of promoting great events such as this.” Dave Spikey |
Events such as the Newcastle upon Tyne Vegan Festival play a very important role in spreading the message of a cruelty free way of life. I send my warmest good wishes to everyone concerned, and I hope it is a great success. Joanna Lumley |
‘I’m sorry I can’t be with you today but as someone who is keen on animal welfare and indeed, traceability, I hope the event is a great success. The vegan movement is certainly worth supporting and investing in, not only for animal welfare but also because of the increase in the instance of allergy and intolerance to many animal products such as cow’s milk and eggs in the UK population. Annual UK sales of dairy-free and lactose-free products are now around £132 million so it’s good to see food manufacturers answering the need of not just the mainstream consumer. And I might add that all my restaurants can cater for vegans if we know in advance – just call ahead and that ensures you have the best possible experience. So have fun at the Newcastle upon Tyne Vegan Festival’ Antony Worrall Thompson |
I have gone to a whole new level with this way of life, spiritually and physically. A very powerful Intuitive voice said to me, ‘you don’t need to eat meat anymore – you need a higher, more refined fuel.’ The feeling of not consuming animals is a gift to me. I know that these festivals are a great way to promote veganism and I wish you the best of success.” Geoff Thompson |
