For decades, a variety of animals, including orcas, have suffered and died in SeaWorld’s prisons. While this decision is a step in the right direction, orcas and other animals at SeaWorld will never come close to feeling the freedom of life outside the tanks until they’re released into seaside sanctuaries.
SeaWorld is making some historic changes. Today we announced that we are ending orca breeding. The orcas in our care will be the last generation of orcas at SeaWorld. Plus, we’re introducing an all new educational orca encounter, focused on orca enrichment, exercise and overall health of these magnificent animals, and it’s sure to inspire.
