Another step in the right direction for animal rights. Switzerland in going to make boiling lobster alive completely illegal. Transporting lobster alive in ice or icy water will also be banned, as the Swiss Government has ruled they need to be kept in their natural environment, as this causes the animals immeasurable suffering. Lets hope other countries follow in Switzerland footsteps.
Tesco has launched today a brand new vegan range of twenty different products which includes ready meals, pizzas and food on the go. The range is available today from over 600 different Tesco stores. There has also been additional vegan products in other supermarkets such as Sainburys and Ocado.
Recently demand for vegetarian and vegan food has soared as a result of lifestyle choices such as Meat Free Mondays and flexitarian diets. In the last year alone, Tesco has directly seen the effect of those lifestyle choices with demand for chilled vegetarian ready meals and meat substitutes soaring by 25 per cent.
The brand is called wicked kitchen and is designed and prepared exclusively for Tesco, this is definitely something we have all been waiting for from a supermarket chain. All of the products that have been released look amazing and we cannot wait to try them.
