I was recently chatting to Paul Kerton better known to his YouTube fans as the Hench Herbivore about veganism. This is a short extract :- Veganism is unequivocally THE BEST thing that ever happened to me. It’s not without it’s potential for downsides, once we become fully aware of how humanity at large still treats farmed animals, etc. and perhaps we are treated unkindly by people that don’t like to be forced by our healthful example, to consider they are causing unnecessary suffering at breakfast, lunch and dinner every day.
Events like this can be a real breath of fresh air! It is like we are catapulted forwards to a time (which believe me IS coming) where most of us are conscious of not wanting to do harm in the world. Although many of the attendees may be strangers to us, they feel more like friends.”
Saturday 25th November 2017 VFUK visited Aberdeen for regions second vegan festival of 2017. The event was held within the Pittodrie Stadium and the turn out was superb. To see what the attendees and the visitors had to say about this event (CLICK HERE).

Speakers & Workshops
Fiona Oakes – Nominated as one of the inspirational women in the UK by the Daily Mail, Fiona is without doubt the most impressive, inspirational and selfless people I have ever met, and I would encourage anyone regardless if they are vegan, non-vegans, runners or non runners to take time to listen to Fiona’s talk.
The below extract was taken from the about page of The Fiona Oakes Foundation website (http://fionaoakesfoundation.co.uk/about/)
Fiona holds five marathon course records – The North Pole Marathon, The Antarctic Ice Marathon, the Ruska Marathon, The Dartmoor Vale Marathon and the Essex Championship Marathon at Halstead. She has completed over 50 marathons and a personal best of 2 hours 38 minutes. In 2013 she became the fastest women in the history of the World to run a marathon on all 7 continents in terms of the total number of hours taken. She is also the fastest woman to run a marathon on all 7 Continents Plus the North Pole – both in terms of the aggregate time and the elapsed days – an incredible achievement but made quite extraordinary given her disability.
Vegan Actions North East – Making the case for Radical Veganism
Radical Veganism is a serious step towards breaking away from single-issue veganism. The reaffirming of the origins of veganism as a political justice movement for all animals – human and non-human. If the vegan and animal liberation movements are to succeed, we need to be serious about social justice for all animals and Radical Veganism provides a framework to do this.
Elvis Personal Trainer – Standing on the crossroads which can lead humanity either to an age of harmony and prosperity or to the destruction of the biosphere and ourselves, it is more important than ever to shatter old believes in the light of new evidence.
Are animal products an essential part of strength and endurance training? How does diet affect our mind and the subtle energies in the human body, which western medicine still fails to embrace? What is the role of the individual in bringing about a profound change? And is it possible to find the right direction deep within us in order to move forward?
We will try to find the answers to these and many other questions during this talk..
