Sky Apple Cafe opened in 2002 in the heart of Heaton on Heaton Road. Independently owned and operated, we specialize in vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free cuisine. Making delicious, homemade and affordable foods is our passion, and to do this we serve only the finest locally sourced ingredients.
Head chef and owner Andy T specially designs the menus to suit a wide variety of tastes, taking into account the seasons to create amazing dishes that change throughout the year.
During the day we operate as a café, with a wide variety of tasty foods that fit any budget. In the mornings we serve huge vegetarian and vegan breakfasts. Relaxed and cozy, it’s a great place to have lunch, get some cake, or just sit and have a cup of coffee.
In the evening, we operate as a restaurant with full table service and gourmet menus, which change every six weeks to offer variety. We offer a wide selection of organic and locally sourced soft drinks, juices, coffee and teas. We now serve alcohol, but you can still bring your own bottle of wine or beer, and we charge only a small corkage fee.
The sky apple cafe at night As a family friendly restaurant we offer a separate children’s menu with popular choices as well as healthy options. We have a baby changing room, high chairs, and some books to help entertain the kids.
Pudz Animal Sanctuary is named after a very special cat called Pudding, who I rescued in 1993, he inspired me to rescue many more animals until we really needed financial help, and so set up the sanctuary. Pudding died in 2010, age 17, but his memory will live on, and because of him, countless more animals have been helped. We will endeavour to help, and give advice, and share our experiences with you.
Pudz Animal Sanctuary was officially started on 12th November 2013. We care for 36 animals at the moment and hope to expand.
Our marketing experience stretches back almost 15 years, having worked in the industry since 1996. Some of our clients have included DFDS Seaways, Barnardo’s, and DB Regio (operators of Tyne & Wear Metro). We started the business, because we knew that there was an opportunity to offer a better service to businesses throughout the UK.
