Vegan In Spain

In early July we left for Murica in Spain for the next two weeks we stayed in a amazing villa in El Valle which is a 5 star golf resort, in the time we were there we visited some amazing restaurants some of which were all vegan and some of the others offered some great vegan options some of which I have wrote about below.

The first place we visited was Veg & Roll this was in Murcia main City Centre, although the inside was not that spacious it was well loved by the locals as we were lucky to get a seat it was so busy inside. There was a huge variety of foods to choose from whether it be tapas or a large burger. This place was 100% vegan and i heard online that it was all ran by animal activists so all of the staff who worked there had a lot of compassion. Although there was a language barrier as we did not know much Spanish and the staff did not know much English they were very kind and helped us with the menu the best they could. We ordered quite a few different things from the menu to share between us all, but since it was in Spanish and they weren’t translated we had to guess what most of them were so it was a surprise for us when the food arrived, however we did not mind as we knew everything was all vegan.

As you can see from some of the pictures above all of the food looks amazing and tasted even better. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Another place we went to one day was towards Murcia city centre but not actually in the city centre it was more on the outskirts, this was inside a shopping mall called Thader Mall. We went to a pizza restaurant called YOLO pizza. Although this was not all vegan it did not matter as much as you built the pizza yourself, we found this restaurant through happy cow and it was marked as vegan friendly so we didn’t know if there was just an option to leave the cheese of the top of the pizza or if they had vegan cheese. When we went there we found out they didn’t have vegan cheese however that did not matter to much as the pizza was made up right in front of us and we chose everything we wanted on. Again at this restaurant the staff were very friendly and helpful and i would of loved to gone back here again. 

Although I didn’t get a chance to take a lot of photos in the shopping centres i wish i did, or some kind of video as i was pleasantly surprised at the amount of vegan options there was available especially milk there was just aisles and aisles of non dairy milks, i would go as far as to say more than dairy milks. Also i managed to get a brief picture below of some of the fridge items, one of which was amazing which is vegan Spanish tortilla, i was very surprised when i looked at this and it was labelled vegan so it was no shock that i got a fridge full of them, there was also many options for our BBQ which we we had one night there was a endless option of burgers made from either soy, vegetables, tofu, seitan, the choices were endless. We also managed to grab some vegan chocolate and biscuits etc. I went to Spain two years ago to the exact same place and they didn’t have half of the option that they had this time, so just goes to show that times are changing for the better. 

Also just to top it all off even though this was not from Spain it was my 24th birthday the day after we got home and my Mam and Dad got me this amazing rainbow cake from supernatural cafe in Newcastle city centre, they never fail to amaze us with their fantastic range of foods and cakes.
